LOG ENTRY — STARDATE: [JULY 14, 2025] — MISSION TRIP: LOVE LOCAL DAY 1: THE HUB ARGENTINE
Crew’s PADD | U.S.S. Leawood | Sector: Kansas City, KS
MISSION TITLE: Operation Elbow Grease: Blackberry Bushes & Bathroom Battles
CREW MEMBERS PRESENT:
Capt. Tyler, Cmdr. Barb, Cmdr. Bruce, Lt. Gene, Ensigns Caleb & Corbin, Comm Officers Olive, Anna, Pam, & Melanie, Intern Liaison Sofia, Alien Mascot Theo
08:00 – Pre-Launch Assembly
The crew gathered at U.S.S. Leawood HQ for our morning transmission and caffeine calibration. Captain Tyler performed final diagnostics and squad check-ins before granting clearance for launch.
08:30 – Launch Sequence Initiated
Boarded the rustic-but-reliable mission vessel (code name: Byrd Van). Started ignition via analog key (a rare ancient technology) and jumped to light speed—okay, traffic speed.
09:00 – Arrival at The HUB (Humanitarian Unified Base)
Admiral Carter welcomed us to the Intergalactic Hub—an orbiting outpost where any lifeform in need can access resources, food, housing support, and hope. Our mission briefing was clear: serve, sweat, and support.
🧹 Mission Objectives Completed:
🌿 Blackberry Cane Containment
Cmdr. Barb, with botanical bravery, led a daring team to tame the feral blackberry canes threatening the outer perimeter. These vines were as thorny as a Romulan peace treaty. Thankfully, Barb has a taste for blackberry and Corbin fed her the crop (which also prevented her transformation into a hangry space monster). Thorns were vanquished, and vines re-secured.
🧽 Tile Priming & Deep Space Sanitation
Comm Officers Olive & Anna engaged in hazardous fume protocol to prep bathroom tiles for galactic-level grime. Bathroom Corner Slime (codename: Pam’s Alien) was neutralized with heavy-duty elbow grease.
🌮 Fueling the Crew
At 12:00 hours, we broke for tacos made with the finest planetary spices—possibly the best in the quadrant. Mission morale spiked.
🍞 Bread Asteroid Crash
An unexpected cargo drop of bread products hit the loading dock. Ensigns Caleb & Corbin, aided by Intern Commander Sofia, managed triage and distribution. Order was restored.
🌀 Air Circulation & Info Transmission Systems Installed
Lt. Gene and Cmdr. Bruce mounted overhead fans and installed interstellar information monitors in the HUB’s command room. Captain Tyler provided strategic backup and was sent on two away missions to the Hardware Galaxy for supplies.
🧰 Tool Kit Logistics
Cmdr. Barb continued to beam between units—plant care, sanitation detail, and tool delivery. She’s basically a Swiss Army knife with sneakers.
15:30 – Mission Completion Delay
Original return ETA was 14:30, but surprise mission anomalies and a small space skirmish (we think the Allen wrench revolted) extended operations. Team held the line with grace.
16:30 – Return to Base + Ice Cream Diplomacy
Morale boost issued in the form of mini ice cream cones. Energy levels restored. Comm Officer Melanie and crew prepared ginger lime chicken dinner with precision. Thankfully, dessert did not spoil appetites—this was a culinary victory on all fronts.
🌌 Evening Reflections:
🌀 Unexpected Media Discovery
Shortly after our return, Olive & Anna intercepted an ancient children’s transmission—an unintentionally hilarious instructional video about kindness, note-giving, and affirming fellow humans. This artifact has become required viewing for U.S.S. Leawood Away Missions, and seems to help with week’s end reflections.
Stardust & Scripture
Alien Mascot Theo joined Lt. Gene and Cmdr. Bruce in leading a short worship transmission. The anthem: “Sanctuary.” The message: Ephesians 2:10 – “We are God’s workmanship.”
Crew reflected using the Rose, Thorn, Bud method:
Rose = moment of joy or beauty
Thorn = something difficult or unexpected
Bud = a hope for tomorrow
The insights shared were rich, moving, and light-years beyond surface-level chatter.
🤝Team Bonding Protocol: Game Mode Activated
Before launch, crew bonding was initiated with a game called Maze set up by none other than Alien Mascot Theo himself. Though small in size, his strategic thinking rivals any Federation officer. The game brought laughs, light competition, and immediate camaraderie across our interplanetary crew.
🚀 FINAL LOG THOUGHT:
Gratitude to the Creator who authored our day. From blackberry brambles to broken tiles, from tacos to tools, from sweat to song—our mission reminded us that every act of service is sacred when love leads the way.
End Log. Prepare for Day 2. Engage. 🖖
